Northern Virginia

Dance Association

NVCWDA consists of a group of people dedicated to enjoying and promoting country-western dance.

Mambo shuffle Founded in 1986, we are incorporated as a Virginia nonprofit organization for members and the general public interested in learning, teaching, expanding, and preserving country-western dance. Membership is open to anyone over 18 years old. Our common bond is our love for country-western dancing.

We put on regular dances several times a month, on the first and third Saturdays as listed on the Calendar. All dances are open to the public and partners are not required. Once a year we try to hold a "Benefit Dance" so that we can donate the proceeds from the dance to a local charity. Each year we also have a special Anniversary Dance to celebrate our founding and a New Year's Eve dance to celebrate the season.

Demonstration dance team

In addition to holding dances, we sponsor a dance team that goes out into the community to perform and teach in various places, such as festivals, school and church events, and senior centers.
