Meet NVCWDA

Mambo shuffle

NVCWDA consists of a group of people dedicated to enjoying and promoting country-western dance.

Founded in 1986, we are incorporated as a Virginia nonprofit organization for members and the general public interested in learning, teaching, expanding, and preserving country-western dance. Membership is open to anyone over 18 years old. Our common bond is our love for country-western dancing.

We put on regular dances several times a month, on the first, third, and fifth Saturdays. All dances are open to the public and partners are not required. Once a year we try to hold a "Benefit Dance" so that we can donate the proceeds from the dance to a local charity. Each year we also have a special Anniversary Dance to celebrate our founding and a New Year's Eve dance to celebrate the season.

Demonstration dance team

In addition to holding dances, we sponsor the Country Steppers dance team. The Steppers go out into the community and perform and teach in various places, such as festivals, school and church events, and senior centers.
