The City of Fairfax Green Acres Center is a former elementary school decommissioned in 2002. Originally built by Fairfax County Public Schools, it was purchased by the City of Fairfax in 1979.  Since 2002, Green Acres has been home to offices of the city’s Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments, a community center, a senior center, and a preschool.
